Our client in Macomb, MI, reached out to us to create an appealing landscape design that complemented their already beautiful home! Their goal was to upgrade their curb appeal, so we got to work making it happen! First, we started by building the foundation for this landscaping project: the walkways, outdoor steps, and retaining walls in front of their home. Then, we installed the landscape beds, filling them with varying shrubs, flowers, and hedges, along with mulch and rock ground covers and some outdoor lighting fixtures. In addition to their front landscaping transformation, we created a small patio space in their backyard where our client can spend time outside and relax.

The first step was to build the foundation for this landscaping project.

This landscaping project was extensive, so the first step was to build the foundation, which included outdoor steps, walkways, and retaining walls. We constructed outdoor steps leading up to our client's front door using materials that complemented their home, which extended the length of the entryway. Then, we built a walkway connecting them to the driveway, using concrete pavers arranged in unique patterns to give it visual interest. A walkway around one side of the house and into the backyard was installed, too.

In addition to the walkways and outdoor steps, we incorporated retaining walls from complementary materials into the landscape design. These walls branched out from either side of the wide-set front entryway steps, giving the area more depth and dimension while creating the perfect opportunity for raised planter beds!

Next, we installed the landscape beds with plants, ground covers, and lighting.

With the foundation of this project done, our team moved on to installing the landscape beds. Beds were placed along the house, in front of the entryway at the base of the outdoor steps, and atop the retaining walls. We also filled them with varying shrubs, flowers, and hedges, strategically placing these elements to create a cohesive, purposeful look. While the hedges add visually appealing lines and edges, the shrubs and flowers bring pops of color and depth to the overall design. Meanwhile, rock and mulch ground covers were incorporated into the different beds to give them that polished appearance. Finally, some landscape lighting fixtures were installed to draw attention to the plantings and ensure the area stays well-lit at night.

The last element of this project was to build a small patio space in the backyard.

Not only did we upgrade our client's front yard but also their back one! The last element of this project was to create a space where they could spend time outside and relax. So, we built a small patio area where their back entrance is. We used the same concrete pavers as the walkway to ensure everything matched, plus incorporated a small stone outdoor kitchen with sleek countertops next to a grill. With this complete, our client now has a stunning front landscape and a charming outdoor living area in the back!
