Our team gave a property in Troy, MI, a makeover by adding fresh plants and landscape lights. When this client reached out to us, they wanted to make their front yard more attractive and elegant. To effectively achieve our client's desired results, we started by creating the design and planning out the entire landscape project. We opted for a variety of small plants, trees, and shrubs and chose plants with soft, white blooms to add depth and visual interest to their yard. Then, we proceeded with the installation by edging out the landscape beds, placing the plants, and adding the mulch. Once those steps were done, our next step was to add landscape lighting to illuminate their front yard and highlight the new plants that we added.

We started this project by designing the landscape and choosing which elements to add.

For this project, we kicked things off by designing how the landscape would look and which elements we should incorporate into it. This client has a gorgeous property and wanted a simple yet eye-catching landscaping display, so we chose a mixture of small plants, shrubs, and trees. The plants we chose have varying heights and widths, which added depth to the landscape.

The plants and flowers we added also followed a specific color scheme. We stayed away from loud and colorful hues and went with soft, white blooms to create a cohesive and attractive display that complemented the rest of the greenery.

After finalizing the design and plan, we started the installation of the landscape.

Once we designed the landscape and picked the elements to fill it with, we went on with the installation process. The landscape beds we installed for this client ran across their entire front yard, which enhanced the visual interest of the house. Below are the steps we took when installing the landscape beds:

  • Edged the Landscape Beds: This step defined the shape of the landscape beds and gave them a more refined look.
  • Installed the Plants: During this part, we made sure the plants were well-arranged to create some visual interest for the yard. Tall plants have small shrubs beneath them while other shrubs placed along the length of the house are at the same height for a nice, clean look. The plants with flowers were also spaced properly so the landscape beds don't look too cluttered and messy.
  • Added Mulch: Our crew installed the mulch by hand to achieve the ideal thickness of the ground cover. We also used black mulch to create a deep, contrasting ground cover and make the plants' colors pop up more.

We finished the project by installing landscape lighting.

The last step of the project was to install landscape lighting. Our team used LED lights to showcase the fresh and new landscape beds on their property. We made sure the lighting fixtures were installed at the right places to effectively highlight the unique features of the landscape at night so their beauty is always on display!
